I did it! I have completed phase 1!!! I checked off all the boxes and I'm thrilled.
It has not been easy at all but then again it's a program titled Insanity. If it was easy I would have sent it back.
Next week is a full week of Recovery. So I'll be doing the video called Core Cardio & Balance all week.
Then I can start kicking phase 2's butt.
I've been keeping up with having Shakeology for breakfast. I really lean more towards the strawberry flavor over chocolate. I recently tried it with frozen strawberries, frozen pineapple, and milk. That was pretty good. This morning I just switched out the pineapple for mango and really enjoyed that one too. It really makes me full for a long time and I feel energized with it.
Two other random fitness things. One I'm going to start doing yoga to help my body out. Two is as the days go by I'm getting more and more excited for Les Mills Combat to come out.

In personal life news I'm so ready for Thanksgiving. I'm really grateful for our Navy family. This year we're spending it with Laura and her family. I get to make green bean casserole, honey beer bread, and an apple pie (my FAVORITE!!). I also plan on putting up our Christmas tree this Wednesday since I'm off. Which means I get to move furniture around to figure out where to put it. We have a good size house and I will find room for it.

Day 21 & 22
Woohoo yesterday was the last day of week 3!
We spent the day at home relaxing. I ended up waking up around 9am. Mike looked so peaceful sleeping so I left him alone. I took that time to start on his blanket and watch a couple tv shows he doesn't care too much for. Once Upon A Time, coffee, and quiet...it was perfect.
Once I looked at the time it was near noon and I realized he was still asleep and I was starving. So I whipped us up an awesome breakfast to entice him out of bed. We had cinnamon nutmeg pancakes, eggs with pepperjack cheese, and turkey bacon. He got out of bed quick!
The rest of the day was spent cleaning up and playing our video game together. Dinner rolled around and I fixed us grilled cheeseburger wraps. Those were pretty good.
After dinner was workout time!! I started with a circuit from www.pbfingers.com . Her circuits are pretty awesome. This one was an ab circuit.
It was:
50 Jumping Jacks
50 Crunches
50 Squat Jumps
60 sec. plank
25 crunches to the left, 25 crunches to the right
60 sec. high knees
25 reverse crunches
10 burpees
25 bicycle crunches
60 sec. jump rope
20 left lift crunches

It took about 25 minutes to run through this. It felt great too. Once I did that I went over to my Insanity video of the day. Yesterday's was Plyometric Cardio Circuit. I slept great after all of that.
Today wasn't too exciting to write about. I did start week 4 of Insanity so that part rocks. I did Pure Cardio.
I'm looking at getting some nice flooring for the exercise room so it's not so hard on my feet when I jump around. Hopefully I can find something nice tomorrow.

Days 19&20
After I made that last post we went off to our friend Laura's son's party. He turned 4! It's hard to believe that he's 4 already. We first met Laura and her family while we were station in San Diego. Liam was not even 1. Time flies by so fast.
Once we left that Mike wanted to see Skyfall. I needed to do my Insanity but he's been excited about this movie for so long so I caved. It was a good movie too. By the time we got home it was after 11pm and I was so exhausted. We pretty much went straight to bed.
Because of that my Insanity days are a little off. Thankfully not too bad. It just means instead of tomorrow being a rest day it was yesterday.
Today has been great. I started it with my awesome Shakeology. I did the strawberry with milk, strawberries, and a banana. I then headed out to Laura's for a workout. I asked her for a legs workout and I got it. I finished it feeling amazing. I absolutely love leg workouts. Especially since that's the area I'm really wanting toned and smaller.
After the workout was chat time with a cup of coffee. That's probably my favorite part about going over to her house. It's just so relaxing.
I left for home around lunch time since I promised Mike that we would go to Jersey Mike's. We did that and I just had to grab a hot gingerbread chai from Starbucks. We also went to Joanne's where I got cheap fleece to make Mike a bigger no sew blanket. They were having a Veteran's Day sale so fleece was already 50% off plus they had a 20% discount for military. He'll have a blanket that actually covers him.
Tonight I did the Cardio Power & Resistance. Globe jumps still stink. I do like power squats and v push-ups though more than I used to. I did look like many of the other people in the video at the end....laying on the floor covered in sweat. Sign of a great workout.
I like this picture and it fits this weekend perfectly. Even though I didn't fit yesterday's workout in I still made the schedule work. I didn't give up. I got up today with the motivation to stay on track and to make sure that I still finish Insanity on time.

Days 16, 17 & 18
I've been working longer shifts this week. So it's been running off to work, dinner, working out, and then passing out. Thankfully the rest of the month doesn't involve too many shifts due to holidays.
In the last 3 days I've done: Plyometric Cardio Circuit, Pure Cardio, Cardio Abs, and Cardio Recovery. I'm glad to have crossed them off and made it halfway through another week.
Usually I don't look forward to Cardio Recovery. I don't hate it, I just don't get super excited. However yesterday after spending all day running around at work I got insanely excited that it was recovery day. It helped so much to stretch out.
In other news I've been drinking Shakeology for breakfast now. I've had it 3 days now and I'm liking it. It's the perfect breakfast and keeps me full until lunch. The first day I tried the chocolate flavor and mixed it with 1 cup non-fat milk, a frozen banana, and 2 tablespoons PB2. It was such a great mix! The second day I tried the strawberry flavor mixed with 1 cup non-fat milk, a frozen banana, and frozen strawberries. It was sweet and tasted amazing. Those two are my favorite recipes so far. I did chocolate again this morning but tried it with milk and frozen strawberries. It was still decent but not my favorite. I feel like it tastes better with the banana and pb.
I also weighed in earlier this week and since starting my crazy working out again I've lost 5 pounds. Woot. Along with the weight I've just felt so much better. Hopefully within the next week or so I can take my measurements and check out if I've lost inches as well.
About to go enjoy my friend's son's birthday party!

Day 15: Fit test day
This morning was glorious. I slept in until 9am. It felt great. Well minus being up for 30 minutes around 5:30am due to a nightmare. Apparently in the dream I was pregnant with a dragon and then miscarried. It was pretty strange but I woke up feeling sad.
I didn't spend too much time at the house once I got up. I had a bowl of fruity cheerios and a cup of coffee to get me going. Once I changed and got all my stuff together I headed over to Laura's. I helped her with the kids so she was able to vote today. The kids loved they got stickers from it too.
Laura got her shakeology in today too. We test tasted the vegan strawberry and I like it. We did: pack of the mix, frozen banana, blueberries, blackberries, and milk. It was pretty thick though. Thick enough that we both ate it with spoons. It did make me more excited to get mine in tomorrow.
Next it was workout time! I ended up doing my fit test at Laura's. I looked up what the exercises were and had her time them.

So there was improvement!! It was tough and I learned my lesson of not drinking enough water today. That was not fun to experience. Then right after doing this was my training session with Laura. That workout was tough!!

I will definitely sleep great tonight.

Days 13 & 14
The time change happened this weekend. We were both so excited to get that extra hour of sleep. We stayed up super late and had plans of sleeping in. Well sleeping in turned into wide awake at 8:30am. Yeah...we're old lol.
We started the day with breakfast and playing our favorite game Borderlands 2. I love lazy days with him.
After lounging around all day it was time to head to Laura's to talk beachbody. I love their products and actually become a beachbody coach. I truly believe they have amazing programs. Two weeks into Insanity and I already feel stronger. Turbofire was also a really good one too. Plus this week I'll start having shakeology daily. I'll be adding in how that goes.
Once we finished that we started chatting and I hung out there for dinner. It was really nice just hanging out there for a while. Plus it means lots of baby cuddles and I can't say no to that.
That evening ended with finally doing my Insanity videos. Tonight was Pure Cardio and added in Cardio Abs. I was a little scared to do the abs video. But it was good. It was as tough as I was expecting. It was about 22 minutes total with little rest in it.
I feel awesome busting through the weeks. So two weeks down!
Today thankfully is a rest day. It comes at perfect timing since I did not sleep so great last night. Once I finally started falling asleep it was time to head to work. Loaded up with a ton of coffee the work day wasn't bad at all. I was able to make lots of people happy and I loved it. It makes me realize I do love working in the financial field.

Days 9,10,11 & 12
Day 9 was Halloween and I spent the entire day with my friend Laura and her kids. We did some shopping and browsing around before taking her kids trick or treating. The kids had a blast and it was too cute watching them all excited to go to every house. Everyone loved them!
After the kids went to bed I had Laura do the Insanity video with me. That day was Pure Cardio. Even though I heard lots of "I'm going to die" and "I'm paying you back for this" she did awesome. I loved doing it with a friend and having that extra push.

Day 10 had nothing really exciting happen. It was a long work day! I came home and just wanted to sleep. Instead I did the Plyometric Cardio Circuit. The best part of the night was my amazing beef stew I fixed in the crock pot. It's the perfect winter meal.
Day 11 was yesterday. It was Friday and I got off work at 4!! That was fantastic. I also paid off Mike's car. So now we have no car payments. Thank gosh. With me starting school next semester having less bills will be great.
The insanity workout for the day was Cardio Recovery. So basically a nice stretch workout with squats/lunges. Once I finished that we went out to dinner with Mike's coworker. Mike had found a japanese steakhouse he wanted to try. They were pretty good. I told him if we do go back though I would be trying their sushi.
Now comes to today, Day 12. I had to work today and it was the later Saturday shifts which meant I got off at 2:30. However it also meant I didn't have to be there until 9:45 which is an hour later than normal. I really enjoyed the extra hour of sleep.
After work I actually ended up taking a decent nap on the couch. Apparently I was still tired. Once I woke up Mike informed me that a game he's been wanting just came out recently. While out getting his game we picked up Chickfila for dinner. I ended up getting a grilled chicken sandwich, salad, and a sweet tea.
Today's video is Cardio Power & Resistance. I'll be doing that right after this and look forward to seeing how I do this time on it.
Lastly on food. I had saved some money recently and decided to purchase Shakeology. They came out with a box that now includes 12 vegan chocolate packets and 12 vegan tropical strawberry packets. From the many reviews I've read they are both tasty. I look forward to making this my breakfast. It should be here Wednesday
